Post Helene Update, Sept. 29 - No School Monday

Additionally, as of late this morning, only half of the main campus had electricity. The 4th Grade and the Upper School buildings are completely without power. In the main building, some hallways and classrooms are lit, while others are dark. Some A/C units are cooling areas. Other areas in the main building are warm, only to get warmer in the afternoon sun.
As both the school and families continue to work through the challenges of being without electricity, Holy Trinity will not have school on Monday, September 30.

The loss of electricity in homes will prevent many students from being able to get online for any type of virtual learning, so there will be no "at-home learning" expectation. Some teachers may post material as an option, if it is a help to you. But there will be no expectation that students will complete assignments online. SCISA has lifted any requirement for schools to make any days lost due to after effects of the storm.
Also, we are considering all sports events and after school activities to be suspended for the time being. We will need to check in with other schools to determine if we are able to reschedule competition. Coach Hapner and Mrs. Carte will be working on that as they are able, and we will keep everyone posted as information is available.
Dominion Energy still reports that it may take several days to restore power to the thousands of homes that are currently without it. We will monitor the situation in the community and the school, with a plan to communicate to you with daily updates. We will make every effort to get updates out by 3:00 each day.
Finally, keep our community, our state, and other areas impacted by the storm in prayer. Areas west of us through Georgia, into the Upstate of SC, and into Western NC and Eastern TN are reporting damage on par with the impacts that hurricane Katrina had on New Orleans many years ago. May the Lord's gracious hand be the people of those areas.

In Christ,
Mr. Bolen
